TECHNOLOGY

In today’s world, technology is a necessary component of any law office. This is to ensure a link with business to business interface, docket management and file management. Freedman Anselmo Lindberg, LLC has been committed to implementing the latest technology into our practice areas.

This started in the early 1980's when Steve Lindberg bought two DEC Rainbow 100 computers, linked them via a Corus Hard Drive and used WordStar to process the forms. Since then, technology has advanced and the firm has kept pace with those advances.

FAL uses the latest server equipment with redundancy where possible. With virtualization now mainstream and more stable, we at FAL believe in using less power and our equipment more efficiently. This combined with mulitple internet connections from different vendors, gives us the capability to run faster, more efficiently, with redundant access and recovery. FAL uses various software tools within its hardware. The database that provides all the information and data processing is Collection Master®. This software is used in conjunction with our imaging Software, Imagemaster®. Imagemaster provides the firm with scanned in documents, letters, pleadings ,bills, etc... allowing the firm to reduce the necessity for paper. It gives the entire staff the“ entire file at a glance” without having to leave their desk. This allows for less phone calls that need to be returned and immediate access to information. Our other database we use for our foreclosure/bankruptcy work is called Perfect Practice®.

The firm uses various other software components for e-mail, faxing, document preparation, file transmittal etc. If you need more information on the software, please call one of the partners and we would be happy to discuss this with you.

DISASTER RECOVERY

It is one thing to have the software and use it on a daily basis and another to be at the ready in the event of a disaster. FAL runs a back up of its data continually during the day. At night, a hard drive back up is run and the hard drive is replicated in the morning and removed from the location. Thus, in the event of a disaster, the maximum amount of data loss to the firm is limited to a 24 hour period. FAL has not stopped there. What if a disaster such as a fire, tornado or other catastrophe occurred rendering the office and its computers inoperable? FAL has strategized and is currently utilizing a “hot site” location provided by Sungard Recovery Services LP ( for more information see: http://www.availability.sungard.com).

Sungard has numerous locations throughout the United States as well as portable “hot site” locations at its disposal. The firm has entered into a contract to use Sungard’s services for relocation in the event of disaster. It is currently calculated that the office will be fully functional within a 6 hour period of declaring the disaster and relocation to the hot site location. This was done to protect the clients of FAL and allow us to continue to perform at the level of excellence our clients expect. This component in conjunction with our Imaging program will allow the firm to immediately resolve issues on behalf of our clients. See: FAL Successfully Implements Its Disaster Recovery Plan

FAL believes that the issues facing the firm should be the firm’s issues, and not the clients’ issues. The investment in technology and the corresponding software illustrates the firm’s commitment to its clients.

Whether it be the law, technology, or practice management, FAL exceeds its clients' expectations and provides a consistent level of excellence.
